Vintage Suitcase Makeover

Hello sweet Friends!! Today I am finally sharing the second suitcase of this set I picked up curbside a year or so ago. I gave my garage a serious cleaning and uncovered it from one of the corners. I'll be back on Thursday with a glimpse of all the stuff I decided to purge. (It was A LOT!) I shared what I did with the first suitcase HERE, and today I'm sharing how I transformed the larger of the two: That one wasn't in as pristine condition as the smaller one was, and I had a hard time … [Read more...]

Fleur de Lis Dresser

Hey sweet Friends! And I'm back...again!  Today's makeover is #29 on our list and it's a good one, ya'll! I found this one at an estate sale at this quaint little cottage about six houses from the ocean: I bought a few pieces at that sale, including this farmhouse hutch and this desk, all of which I've redone and sold long ago...all except one. I went back on Sunday when everything was marked down and picked up this yellow dresser for $25: The price was right and it was in … [Read more...]

Coffee Table with French Graphics

What's up my sweet Friends? Are ya'll up for a coffee table makeover? That's what I'm bringing you on this fine day! Remember when I shared this yard sale haul picture the other day: I was sharing the makeover of that tall table, which if you missed you can see here. Today I'm tackling the coffee table! Here is a  closer look: This table was in excellent condition and a bargain at $15, but there was really nothing special or unique about it. So of course I painted … [Read more...]

Paris, Table for Two

Hi friends!  Welcome to thrifty makeover #16! I've so enjoyed spending every day here with you this month, if only I could keep it up! Today I'm sharing a furniture makeover, and I hope you love today's makeover as much as I do! I found this table and chair at the Salvation Army last year and they have been buried in my garage ever since. I spied the table almost right away and I loved it. I'm not sure why. The two chairs were nearby and looked like a good match. Furniture was half … [Read more...]

French Graphics Revive a $5 Yard Sale Find

Hey everyone! If you follow me on Facebook, you may have seen the goodies I found on my first official yard saling day this season. Can you believe I have been able to hold myself back this long?? My garage and I aren't exactly on speaking terms right now, so I've had to cut back. I have stopped by a couple of yard sales here and there on the way to where I was supposed to be going, but this was my first day of saying, "To heck with it!" and setting out to shop for bargains! I found two dated … [Read more...]

Mini Drop Cloth Rosette Stool Makeover {a $5 Yard Sale Find}

I have a fun makeover for you today! Seems like it's been a while since I shared a makeover, probably because I've been knee-deep in my kitchen redo for what seems like forever! I found this little stool at a yard sale for $5 a couple of weeks ago: I liked the chair height of it and of course, the price tag.  It was a bit beat up though, and not in a "Its got tons of character" sort of way... So I immediately came up with the perfect plan in my mind... You know how sometimes … [Read more...]

Frenchy Scalloped Table Makeover

Hi everyone! A couple of months ago I shared this little table in a guest post.  In case you didn't get at chance to check it out then, I thought I'd share it here today! This is a sweet table I redid for my last show.  I found it at an estate sale last summer. The house I found it at looked like time had stood still and nothing had been touched in several decades. You seriously could have put up velvet ropes at each door way and called it a museum! (I'm so serious.) It creeped my mom out, … [Read more...]

Drop Leaf Table Makeover

How would you guys like to see a furniture makeover today? It's been a while hasn't it? One of my sweet readers was curious about this table when she saw it in one of the pictures of my Christmas Market booth. I have a few pieces that I did for that show that I haven't shared yet, so I promised her I would start with this one. :) I found this drop leaf table at a yard sale last summer for $35.  Kinda plain, no bells or whistles. (Wouldn't it be funny if it actually had bells and whistles he … [Read more...]

One Little Caddy (that I almost ruined!), Two Ways

This is the antique tool caddy that almost wasn't: This is how it looked when I found it sitting all by it's lonesome self at one of my favorite thrift stores a while back: I  knew I wanted to paint it, but didn't really have a plan. Enter the very talented  Kristen, of Sophia's. I was reading her latest email where she shared a link to her favorite image transfer product.  She demonstrated it on tea towels and it was amazing how well it worked. She also said that it works on … [Read more...]
