Thrift Store Frame Repurposed (& a video on how to stencil and make it look hand-painted!)

Frames...okay can we add frames to the list of things I can't pass up when I see a great deal? That's frames, mirrors, and picnic baskets ha ha. I'm sensing a theme here...ahem hoarder. Welcome back, awesome friends! I'm getting down to the final few pieces from my last thrifting/estate sale haul, and today I'm repurposing this pretty frame: Anytime I see a frame with these curvy lines, I just can't resist picking it up, especially when it's half off of! This was $3.25 but all blue … [Read more...]

$4 Thrift Store Tray Makeover

Sweet friends, welcome back! Today I'm sharing project piece #2 from my most recent thrifty haul...this tray that I picked up for $4.25 at the Goodwill: That design on the bottom was under a really thick layer of acrylic, and I knew I wanted to cover that up. That is exactly what I did! Here is how it looks now: I almost always pick up wooden trays when I see them, but I especially loved that this one already had these cute feet. I've included a few affiliate links so you can … [Read more...]

Hello amazing Friends!! Thank you for all the positive feedback on my DIY Rolling Umbrella Base on Tuesday! It is working out great so far! Today I've got a fun little upcycle for ya'll. I shared a peek of today's project on Tuesday...this $2 thrift store frame and these spindles: The frame was small but nice and deep, perfect for a little tray!   I had painted the frame last week, but was undecided on what I would use as the bottom of my new tray. Then on Saturday, … [Read more...]

Bed Tray Makeover

Happy Thursday, fabulous friends! Today I have a quick and easy makeover for ya'll! I picked up this bed tray at the thrift store a few weeks back for $3: It kind of had a coastal vibe going already, however I'd say the paint job was a little rushed, what do you think? Ha ha no worries...I gave it a nice neutral redo: I still had my mix of Annie Sloan's French Linen (one part) and my DIY mix in  Behr's Bit of Sugar (two parts) out from painting my latest headboard bench … [Read more...]

Thrift Store Inbox Makeover

Hello awesome Friends! On Tuesday I shared a peek at today's project. Apparently there are a lot of these floating around out there because several of you mentioned you had one too! I'm talking about this wooden inbox I scored at the thrift store for $2.25 several months ago: Anything that is made of wood catches my eye when I'm thrifting since I know paint can work wonders, and as soon as I saw this on the shelf, I knew just what it could be. Painting it and adding handles turned … [Read more...]

French Love Letter Tray

Hello awesome Friends! I have a sweet makeover for ya'll today! I must have passed by this tray at the Antique Mall where I have my booth at least a dozen times: I just loved the details of the frame. I finally decided to just buy it already. I thought maybe I could put some pretty fabric under the glass, only when I removed the outermost felt layer on the back, I discovered mold between the layers... Gross! Then I discovered the glass was not clear, but covered in foil-like … [Read more...]

$5 Thrift Store Tray Makeover

Hello lovely Friends! I've got a cool little makeover to share with ya'll today! On the same trip where I found the large basket I shared a couple of weeks ago, I also picked up this tray: I rarely pass up a good tray and for $5, all this tray needed was a little TLC, so in the cart it went. The bottom looks like a cool metal, but it's actually just paper. I decided instead of trying to remove the paper to get a decent  painting surface, I would just cover it up. Enter these two … [Read more...]
