Thrift Store Stool Makeover and How to Whitewash Furniture

Hello sweet friends! Today I'm continuing through my Haul of Shame with this little stool I picked up for a few dollars at the thrift store: I had several people purchase the supplies for the whitewashing technique that I used on my drop leaf table a couple of weeks ago, and so I really wanted to create a video to demonstrate how easy is it to achieve this look. This piece was the perfect piece for that! I love this look and this finish can hide all the imperfections! It … [Read more...]

$5 Stool Redo

Hello beautiful friends, and welcome to Trash-to-Treasure Tuesday!! Most of what I share are trash-to-treasure projects, but today I get to do it with four of my favorite treasure-maker friends! You'll find links to their projects at the bottom! Today's makeover is this little bench that I painted way back in 2013: It made an appearance in my tutorial for adding graphics old-school style and used to have the word Love across the top.  It lived in my closet until we moved two Summers … [Read more...]

$2 Thrift Store Box Makeover

Happy Thursday, amazing friends, and Happy Independence Day to my fellow Americans! Today's makeover isn't patriotic inspired, but I did include a fun one from the past at the bottom for you! :) Today I'm sharing a piece that I found on clearance at the thrift store...is there anything better?  Why yes there is, actually! How about a double markdown at the thrift store? The box I'm sharing today was marked down not once, but two times! I knew this little box had potential: And it … [Read more...]

Child’s Wicker Rocker Makeover

Sweet friends, can I just say again how thrilled I am to be working through these pieces that I've been hoarding for so long? Today I'm sharing what I did with this child's wicker rocker: I am always drawn to children's pieces because they are so darn cute! They are also usually good sellers for me. People might hesitate to spend money on something for themselves, but will for their kiddos or grandbabies, am I right? I know that is true for me. It seems more justified … [Read more...]

Drop Leaf Table Makeover and How to Apply Sealer with a Sponge

Who's up for a furniture makeover?? How about six furniture makeovers? Amazing friends, today I'm teaming up with my Furniture Fixer Upper crew to bring you a total of six brand new furniture projects! Be sure to look for theirs at the bottom! My project for today is this drop leaf table that I am suffering from a slight bought of amnesia over: I have zero recollection where or when I found it or how much I paid for it! I'm pretty sure it moved with us two years ago, and it may have … [Read more...]

$10 Yard Sale Chair Makeover

Hello, lovelies!! I'm back today with another piece from my Storage Room "Haul" of Shame! It's a chair that I picked up at a yard sale the Summer before last. Yes, I've held onto this chair for two years! Can I just tell you again how much I love that these "hauls" are helping me tackle all these pieces I've been hoarding?! If you need to move a few pieces along, maybe try gathering a few and snapping a photo...then print it out and cross out each item in the photo as you tackle it...it … [Read more...]

$6 Rooster Lamp Makeover

Happy Thursday, beautiful friends! I have a simple makeover for ya'll today! Aren't those the best sometimes? I'm not usually drawn to roosters, but when I spied this lamp at the thrift store with a price tag of $6.25, I knew I had to bring it home: The shade was pretty jazzy, but it was yellowed and cracked on the inside, so it couldn't be saved. It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint and a new shade can do for a lamp: It looks so much more fresh and updated, don't you … [Read more...]

$6 Thrift Store Bench Makeover

Welcome back, sweet friends!  On one of Nancy and my thrifting trips last year, we came upon two benches outside of one of the thrift stores that were almost identical. They were long and narrow and both were painted barn red. We thought they would be perfect for each of us to make over. Then we discovered one of the ends of one of them had been chopped off. What a bummer! It would have been fun to see what each of us came up with for them. I did, however, bring home the one that was still … [Read more...]

Sewing Machine Table Makeover with Transfer

Hello, lovelies!! I'm back today with piece number two of my newest haul from the Storage Room Haul of Shame! When my old neighbor put her house on the market, she was selling several pieces of furniture. I bought this dresser from her that I often use for staging. She also had a sewing machine table that she was selling. I passed on it when I bought the dresser because I already had two in my stash at the time, but I told her that if she still had it before moving and just wanted to unload … [Read more...]

Grandma’s Antique Side Table Makeover

Beautiful friends welcome back! I am so excited because today is Trash-to-Treasure Tuesday!! That means not only do I have a trashy makeover for you, so do four of my favorite blogger friends! Be sure to look for their projects at the bottom. A few years ago we acquired a stack of furniture from my Hubby's Grandma's house (like this dresser and this dresser). We also found two of these tables in the shed: I painted one to use in my office to hold my printer, and the other has just … [Read more...]
