Front Landscaping Progress

Hello lovelies! I'm back today to share some progress on our landscaping! Here is a reminder of what our house looked like the day we closed on it: Everything was overgrown. See more in my previous post HERE if you missed it. Unfortunately we were unable to keep most of the existing landscape because some things had become so overgrown that it caused the smaller bushes beside them (Yes there are many small bushes in there that you can't even see!) to die off in places from lack of … [Read more...]

Our Next Big Project: Front Landscaping

Hey there dear friends! Would you believe we have already started on our next project? We are finally tackling our front landscaping!! Can I get an Amen?? That's what my neighbors are saying I'm sure! This house had been a rental for several years before we bought it last August, and the landscaping had become quite overgrown: The grass was a weedy mess as well. Those photos were taken just after we closed on it. This project was actually at the top of our list for the … [Read more...]

DIY Teapot Garden Feature

Happy Thursday, amazing Friends!! I might be sitting back relaxing on a beach somewhere today, but I wouldn't miss giving you your biweekly dose of creative inspiration! I pulled this project out of my archives because it is THE perfect Mother's Day gift! That is if she has an outdoor space. Several years ago I bought a cute teapot garden feature at a craft market. I shared a photo of it as part of my Front  Yard Garden Tour that year,  and had countless requests for the tutorial. After … [Read more...]

Front Yard Garden Tour

Hello lovely Friends! Did anyone bust out the mixer and make cupcakes after Tuesday's post ha ha! :D I'm back today with my Décor Enthusiast girls sharing all things outdoors for this month's décor challenge! I am sharing my outdoor space in the front of my house, since I needed to get it in gear for Spring anyway! I've included a few affiliate links so you can find the products I use. About five years ago, we totally redid our front yard space. You can see the full makeover HERE, but … [Read more...]

Garden Planter {Swap it Like it’s Hot}

Hi Sweet Friends!! Did you miss me? I sure missed ya'll the past few days! I'm super excited about today's post. It is another thrifty makeover, but this one is part of the Swap it Like it's Hot series where blogger friends send each other a box of thrift store junk treasures to work their magic on. Mine came from my lovely friend, Shanna of Restoration Redoux: Get a load of what she picked out for me to work some magic on: A very patriotic box with drawer, a brass lantern, and a … [Read more...]

Patriotic Birdhouse

    With the Fourth of July just around the corner for us here in the U.S., some of my favorite blogger friends and I are sharing fun DIY projects to show off our patriotic pride! I decided to make over a little Christmas birdhouse that I found for $2 at the thrift store a while back. I bought it when I was making a few Christmas arrangements, but it didn't make the cut. Here it is before: It's kind of pretty, but it has just been sitting in a bin in my … [Read more...]

My Gardens

Hi friends!! It sure has been sad not touching base with you guys on a daily basis since posting my March Madness, 31 Posts in 31 Days Recap. I've been working like crazy on my ceiling and it is looking SO good ya'll!! I can't wait to share! Many of you follow along for my thrifty makeovers and budget redos. Ha ha those two things are actually the same, but you know what goes on around here, and that's why you come back. (Thank you!!)  Today I am bringing something out of my archives that you … [Read more...]

Teapot Garden Feature

If you asked me what project I receive the most emails about, I would say hands down, my Sew Easy Outdoor Cushion Covers tutorial. People are so excited that they can cover their worn out cushions for a fraction of the cost of new ones and I love to hear all the positive feedback. I even receive pictures! But the second project I get the most emails about is not even something I created. Know what it is? This: I shared it as part of my Front  Yard Garden Tour last summer, and I have … [Read more...]

Back Yard Makeover…One Year Later

  Hello my beautiful friends! After many many days of rainy,  gloomy weather, I was finally able to get outside this week and take some pictures of my back yard in the sunshine! We completed our back yard makeover in July of last year. I shared it this Spring and got a ton of positive feedback, which was awesome after all our hard work!  I think that's probably due in part, to the hideous before comparison. What a difference!! Today I'm going to show you the "before", then … [Read more...]

Front Yard Makeover One Year Later

It's been a little over a year since we completely overhauled our front yard.   I found that nature can be a fickle thing. As much detail as I put into selecting  just the right plants for just the right spot... ... and made sure that I had odd numbers for aesthetic value,   Nature took it's own course... ...and  I'm ok with it.  Instead of the expected 24" in diameter, I got 36". Instead of my original perfect grouping of three, I now have  many pairs, with one being … [Read more...]
