Welcome back, dear friends! I’m back today sharing 10 fabulous mini makeovers using one of my favorite transfers! It’s the Classic Vintage Labels transfer, and I now have it in my shop yay!! If you missed the big news last week, I am now a Resdesign with Prima Retailer! I already have a ton of transfers listed in my shop. And, I have even more designs on the way!
I thought this would be a fun post to share since I was playing instead of working this weekend lol. I was in Tampa at the Dixie Belle Elite Retailer Summit! I loved connecting with so many amazing people!
Dixie Belle surprised us by unveiling a brand new clay-based paint line called Terra Clay Paint. It comes in 18 gorgeous colors:
Photo courtesy of my friend, Micaiah of Restore and Rework 🙂
This beautiful blue is Lani’s Lagoon and it is my favorite! (No surprise!) I love that Pistachio green too! The color card never does the colors justice. We got to play with them and it is quite different from what I’m used to, but it is really cool!
Don’t worry, our beloved chalk mineral paint and Silk Mineral paint aren’t going anywhere. This is just another paint to play with, and it really has the more adventurous furniture artists in mind with this line. It should be ready for purchase some time next month!
10 Classic Vintage Labels Mini Makeovers
I pulled many of these mini redos from my smalls posts, but there are a couple of larger projects too.
All of them were embellished with a different mini transfer from the Classic Vintage Labels Transfer which includes everything you see here:
These are perfect for smaller projects! Visit any of these makeovers at the link just below the after photo.
Enjoy!

The first mini makeover I’ve got for you today is this Longaberger basket redo that I shared last fall:
It belonged to my mom and she wanted me to give it a fresh new look to match her decor.
I painted it with Silk in Endless Shore and added a mini transfer to the top:
It is so much more her style now!

Up next is one of these cabinet doors I repurposed:
It got a base coat in Silk Baja Gray and stripes in Fluff. A mini transfer finished it off perfectly:
The little bee knob transfers can be found HERE. They’re so cute!

At number three is this woven bag I picked up at a yard sale for one whole dollar:
I painted it in Cotton and added a little sign with a mini transfer. How cute is it now?
It sold the day I added it to my shop!

A mini transfer added a little peek-a-boo surprise to this next one. It started out like this:
This box was painted in Savannah Mist and embellished with Redesign moulds on the top:
The inside got the stripe treatment and a mini transfer made for a pretty surprise addition when you open it…

The next makeover on our list today is this mirror I picked up from a local friend who didn’t have a use for it:
I gave it a sweet shabby chic look with Cotton, using the cheat distressing method to give it a distressed look.
The mini transfer at the top was the icing on the cake!
I just loved the curves on this one!

At number six is this 99¢ thrift store spice rack. I always grab them when I see them for cheap!
I gave this a super simple makeover using Mint Julep and a mini transfer!
So much more updated, right? I did cut this one down to fit.

Next up is this dated little $5 cane chair I picked up at the thrift store:
The price was too good to pass up.
It got painted in Cotton, sanded, and embellished with a couple of mini transfers.
One on the back:
And one on the front…

This next piece is from a post where I shared four thrifty basket makeovers. I used transfers on two of them.
First, is this ho hum basket that wasn’t all that memorable, but it was solid:
Painting it white and adding a cute little sign gave it personality!
I tend to paint a lot of my smalls white as that helps them to sell quickly!
The second one I shared in this post started out like this:
I loved the shape of this one.
I dry brushed this basket and gave it a sign also:
I mixed and matched two different ones for this one…

This next piece started out as a photo frame box, but it was missing the glass and backing on the top when I found it:
I loved all the fun detailed edges and such on it though, so for $3, I grabbed it!
I painted this one in Savannah Mist and filled that hole in with a transfer-embellished piece that I cut to fit:
Super cute! Here’s the top…
I added one to the inside also:
$3 Thrift Store Box Makeover

Finally, this trinket box that I shared as part of another smalls post was a $5 thrift store find:
I’ve come across a few of these over the years…maybe a Bombay piece?
Clean white for the outside did wonders…
But this pretty custom Dixie Belle Blue mix and a mini transfer added such a sweet surprise to the inside!

Every one of these makeovers used a different mini transfer from this set!
They are just so fun to use, especially on those smaller pieces! I even cut some of them up to make them fit when needed.
This Classic Vintage Labels transfer is available in my shop now HERE!
I hope you enjoyed this round up today!
I’ll be back on Thursday with my Furniture Fixer Upper crew sharing this vintage beauty!
UPDATE! See how it looks HERE now!

What fun to take a trip to find out about a new line of paint!! I love looking back at these smalls, they are so cute with the transfers. Glad you enjoyed your trip! That color Blue Agave looks like a really pretty color!

It really was so nice to get to meet fellow retailers too! Thank you, my friend! The Blue Agave is beautiful too and much softer in person! XOXO

I always enjoy looking back at what you’ve done in the past. Glad you enjoyed your trip. Think the green spice rack is my favorite.
Christy says
I’m so happy you enjoyed the look back, Janice! It’s fun for me too! Thank you…it’s so good to get away, and always good to get home lol! And I liked that spice rack too…such simple changes made such a big difference! XOXO

Hi Christy!!! I am so excited to use the clay based paint. Have you ever used Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint? It is clay based and I love it for smalls. It adds so much texture. Well I must have this transfer. Thank you!!
Christy says
I haven’t used clay based paint before, but the ladies at our conference that had were so excited too! That and getting to play with it made me excited also, and hearing that from you…well now I really can’t wait to get it in lol! XOXO
Barbara says

Christy says
Thank you so much, Barbara! XOXO

So awesome seeing them all grouped together like that, Christy. So glad you have new/more business coming your way. Whew bet it was hot in Tampa. Hope you had fun.
Christy says
I’m glad you enjoyed them, Michele! I am super excited about expanding! Tampa was quite warm, but there was a nice breeze, so it ended up being lovely, thank you! XOXO
Cyndi says
I have those tranfers and this has inspired me to use the ones I have left! I don’t think I would have ever thought of putting them on a chair like that. How cute!
Christy says
Oh awesome! They are so fun to add to so many things!! XOXO
Joanne H. says
Fun to scroll through your smalls again and get a second look at the transfers. I really like what you did with the mirror. Those curves and details made for a beautiful transformation.
Thanks for all the links in the links so we can always go back and capture the details that we missed before. Like how you attached those cute little signs to the baskets.
Can’t wait to see what you transform with the clay paints.
Christy says
Thank you, Joanne! I was excited to see those curves on that mirror when my friend offered it to me! And you’re so welcome…I can’t wait to play with the clay paint!! XOXO

Its exciting your line of products is expanding even more Christy! I love looking back at your transformations. 🙂 I have a silverware box with the silver in it that belonged to my mother. I want to keep it as a silverware box to pass down to offspring. I had painted the outside black. However, in trying to locate a transfer for it, I can’t find anything with white lettering that is silverware related? I suppose I will need to repaint the box white, but am wondering does the transfer company you are carrying do transfers with white lettering? Thank you for inspiring once again 🙂
Christy says
I am so excited to be expanding, Mary, thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the look back. The Vigorous Violet has some white words on it:https://www.etsy.com/listing/1236756560/vigorous-violet-redesign-decor-transfer It is quite large though. You could always paint the top white and keep the bottom black, so you can use a black script transfer on the top. Gold is also lovely over black! XOXO

You literally took a pile of ugly junk and turned it into 10 beautiful and useful things that anyone would love to have in their home. You inspire me so much! Thanks for sharing!
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Cyndy! It’s amazing what little paint can do!! XOXO
