$4 Breadbox Makeover

Hello amazing friends! I have a pretty little makeover for ya'll today! I spied this breadbox for $4 at the thrift store last week: I see breadboxes all the time at thrift stores, but I thought this one was so pretty! I've included a few affiliate links so you can find the products I use. I haven't done anything with a Frenchy feel in a while, but that is exactly what I pictured for this beauty!   Such a pretty home for your bread, don't you think? For this … [Read more...]

A New Sign from a Curbside Find

Hi lovely Friends! I was yard saling this Spring and from a mile away as I was nearing one particular yard sale, I spotted a trash pile on the curb. It was mostly old yard decor, but I also spied a few decent pieces of wood. Now how sad is it that I would be more interested in what these nice people were throwing away than what they were selling? I asked if it would be okay if I took the wood, and of course they were so nice about it, but it's much easier to take someone's trash when they're … [Read more...]

Mini Drop Cloth Rosette Stool Makeover {a $5 Yard Sale Find}

I have a fun makeover for you today! Seems like it's been a while since I shared a makeover, probably because I've been knee-deep in my kitchen redo for what seems like forever! I found this little stool at a yard sale for $5 a couple of weeks ago: I liked the chair height of it and of course, the price tag.  It was a bit beat up though, and not in a "Its got tons of character" sort of way... So I immediately came up with the perfect plan in my mind... You know how sometimes … [Read more...]

Fence Picket Signs

Sit, relax and enjoy this FREE project I have to share with you today...a sign made from an old fence picket: I stood on my new dining room table to get this one (the things I do for you). This is actually from the gate at my old house. My sister-in-law who still lives near my old house let me know that the new owners were replacing their fence. I love it when friends and family look out for good garbage for me! I shared a pic of them spilling over the top of my husband's truck bed … [Read more...]

How to Transfer Letters Old School Style

I love to create signs and add graphics to my furniture pieces.  Today I'm sharing with you how I do it. There are a lot of ways to add words/graphics to a project with all the awesome cutting machines and fancy stencils circulating out there.  When I want to add a little something extra to my pieces, I have to use what I have on hand which sadly, does not include awesome cutting machines or fancy stencils.  So,  I transfer them old school style. Transferring to Lighter Surfaces: Step … [Read more...]
