You may remember last year I joined this talented bunch with my fabric … [Read more...]

$7 Vintage Picnic Basket Makeover

Beautiful friends, thank you for stopping by today! I'm always so thrilled when ya'll visit! I am continuing to work through the second small group of pieces I pulled from my storage room. On Thursday I shared the first piece, a night table I had painted back in 2013 that was in need of an update, and today I'm sharing what I did with this vintage picnic basket I picked up for $6.95: Ya'll know I am a sucker for baskets, but picnic baskets are my favorite! This thang looked like it … [Read more...]

Thrifty Basket Makeovers

Beautiful friends welcome back! Today I am back working through my Haul of Shame! These two baskets have been hanging around as long as I can remember: Let's start with the one that gave me the most trouble: It was marked 75¢, but it was late in the day at the yard sale where I found it, so the lady selling it said to just give her 50¢. I couldn't not bring it home for two quarters, right? I've included a few affiliate links so you can find the products I love. I started both … [Read more...]

Thrift Store Basket Makeover

Hello, amazing friends! I'm back today with the final piece of my yard sale rescue pile! I picked up this basket at the thrift store so long ago that I don't even recall which one I found it at, or how much I paid for it: I'm sure it wasn't much because I'm cheap like that. I know I bought it while we were still at our last house, so that is at least two years ago! It's been hanging around so long that I decided I would put it out at our yard sale for a dollar just to get it out of … [Read more...]

Hello awesome Friends and welcome! I am sharing a Spring-inspired post today and the expected weather here on the east coast could not be more perfect at 74 degrees and sunny! Thrift Store Basket Update

Hello to the sweetest readers ever! Thanks so much for all the wonderful feedback on the doll clothes I made for my niece that I shared on Tuesday! I had THE best time making them. Today I'm sharing a quick update of this giant thrift store basket I scored recently: It's hard to see how large it is in that photo, but this thing is a good size and a bargain at $10. I knew it could be perfect for so many uses, but was a bit plain in its current state. A little spray paint to the … [Read more...]

Summer Wildflower Door Basket

Hi sweet Friends! I've put the paint brush down today to share what I did with this hanging basket I found at the thrift store about a year or so ago: It was only 99¢ and I figured I would put it to use eventually. Well today is the day! It now holds wildflowers on my front door: I didn't even paint it; that is so unlike me! It's so summery and fresh and picks up the colors I have in my planters in the front. I also have a patch of daisies just starting to bloom out … [Read more...]

Beachy Basket Makeover

Hi there! Remember when I shared my hutch decorated three ways as part of a decorating challenge with some of my favorite blogging friends? Well today we're back and this month's decorating challenge is baskets! I see baskets used  mostly for storage of course, but there's no reason they can't be functional and decorative right? The basket I'm sharing today was a $2 thrift store find that I of course I had to make over, because making over stuff is what I do, ya'll. :) It started out like … [Read more...]

Basket Upcycle

Hi friends! Welcome to day 15 of my March Madness, 31 Thrifty Makeovers in 31 days series! We are just about at the halfway mark and I still have a bunch of thrifty makeovers coming your way. Today I am sharing how I upcycled this little basket: I found it at the thrift store for $1.25. It was probably donated because one of the handles was coming unraveled. I came up with an easy fix, but first it got a new paint job. (You know I can't ever leave well enough alone.) Adding jute … [Read more...]

Hi friends and welcome to day #3 of March Madness, 31 thrifty makeovers in 31 days! I have a special treat today! I am so excited to be participating in a Flea Market Swap AKA Swap it Like it's Hot!  This is a challenge where a bunch of crazy bloggers came together to swap thrift store crap, and then we each have to work our magic on what we got!  How fitting is this for my own March Madness challenge? You could send pretty much anything and my thought was, the cheesier the better! Well my … [Read more...]
