Happy Hallow’s Eve, dear friends! I’m so glad you’re here! Halloween is the one holiday where I can be a kid again, and I just love it, so I always enjoying sharing my outdoor Halloween display! Over the years, it has evolved to mostly skeletons and funny faced pumpkins…no blood or gore or anything like that. If Halloween isn’t typically your thing and you stopped by anyway, I’m so glad you did, and I hope you enjoy the tour!

Let’s get to it!
If you’ve seen my Halloween display in previous years, it is quite similar each year as it would be nuts to have all brand new decor every time, but I do change things up a bit here and there and add new things sometimes. And, I have a TON of photos to share today!
Luckily, I took daytime photos over the weekend because rain moved in on Monday afternoon, and it’s been a drizzly mess here ever since. I did get some dusk photos as well, but I took those with my cell phone camera while it was sprinkling. They ended up turning out not too bad for cell phone pics!
I’ll show the daytime version of each area and follow with some dusk photos, so you can see the difference.
Now just imagine…
Tons of mason jars with tea lights lighting the pathways and spread throughout the display, a light fog coming from the ground in front of the porch, and the most perfect Halloween music playing in the background. That is what will be added tomorrow night on Halloween to really bring my display to life!
I’ll start with some far away photos first and then we’ll get in closer.

Driving by quickly during the day, this doesn’t look like much, but when you see it lit up at night, it’s much better!

These guys are always up to no good!

Great use of a broken skeleton…

And as the sun is setting…

I made this lighted Halloween sign many years ago:

It’s not much during the day lol, but it’s awesome at night:

You can see how I did it HERE. (The same tutorial can be used for any holiday sign!)
Behind this sign, you can see the skeleton party is happening inside…

This post would be way too long if I shared that also, but you can see an older post of our skeleton party HERE.

Again, fine by day…

But so much better at night!

I’ll share what’s down in front, and then we’ll go up to the porch!

This is the upper body of the legs poking out from the bushes earlier lol.

Dinner for two? I moved my table and chairs down off the porch this year…

Let’s head for the porch!
The pumpkin arch is my favorite element of our display. I added it in 2023…
But it really comes alive as it gets darker out…

And even darker!

The pumpkins are carvable pumpkins found at both Micheal’s and Target. Jack and his girlfriend carved most of them for me. I gave them the option to carve a couple for the fun of it and came home to this…

All their faces are so animated!

They are attached with electrical ties to a frame made of PVC.
See a bit more on the arch in this Halloween tour HERE.

This Halloween sign has been around for about a decade or so.
I shared how I made it from a mailbox post HERE.

See how everything up on the porch in the background comes to life when the lights come on?

This broken rocker worked perfectly for my display and I hang him here every year…

This guy was the very first Halloween decoration we every purchased. We call him the Butler:

He’s the first thing we put out every year also! He does react to noise and says, “It’s tooooo late to turn back now, for you have happened upon a dead man’s party ah ha ha ha.” But we keep him unplugged so he doesn’t scare the little ones.
He’s quite intimidating!

This is where I sit to hand out candy…

A friend gave me that chair, and of course, I painted it black knowing it would be perfect for my display! The pillow was made from a tea towel over a decade ago.
You can see that super old tutorial HERE.
The kids don’t notice me right away since I’m usually dressed up and just sitting still, so I do startle them lol.
Here are two looks I’ve done in the past:

This dress is amazing and has fringe all the way around the bottom, so I was going for more of a 20’s vibe. I found it at the thrift store and I think it was only $10!

I always paint my face in part skeleton to match my decor.
Back to the porch tour!
This little area always changes. I added a table this year..

It’s hard to see, but that black candle holder on the ground behind the pumpkin was made from a lamp. I redid three lamps to use together, but one of them fell over and broke last year.
You can see the trio of lamps I turned into Halloween candle holders HERE.

And at night…almost cozy!

This creeptastic photos and several others were featured in my Halloween Mantle WAY back in 2014 HERE.

They were actually offered on Pottery Barn’s website as a free download, if you can believe that!

My neighbor passed along this lamp. I painted it black, and it is so perfect in my display!

I love the contrast of the bright yellow mums in amongst all the darkness!

The tree in the background looks like a dark hole in the day, but lights up at night…

And here is the area near the driveway…

And this is what most trick-or-treaters see as they approach…

It’s also my favorite view!

Just need to add all my mason jars with tea lights and cue the mist and music now!

I hope you enjoyed the tour!

This was me and Jack last year just before kick off:

I think it’s going to be much colder this year, so I need to find something warmer to wear lol!
Thank you so much for letting me interrupt my regular thrifty makeovers to share my outdoor Halloween display once again!
Have a safe and FUN Halloween, and I’ll see ya’ll back here with this cute travel case on Tuesday:

UPDATE: See how pretty this storage box is HERE now!!
XOXO,

Don’t Miss a Thing!

I’m so so glad you don’t have an ugly spider in there!!!!!!
Christy says
Ha ha no ugly spiders here! We used to have a remote control one that my hubby would scare the kids with at our old house, but it was rarely the little ones who were scared, it was the older kids ha ha! XOXO
Cindy D says
Love looking at your displays. So imaginative, spooky yet classy. Is that possible? lol Right down to your costume and makeup. Bravo 😉

WoWEEEE!
Just PHENOMINAL! I bet parents take a lot of pictures of their kids in this Wonderland.
I couldn’t help admiring that shrub growing up your wall the skeletons are climbing. I love it. What is it? xoxo
Christy says
Aww thank you, my friend! Yes, lots of photos are taken, especially under the pumpkin arch! That shrub is a climbing camellia. It is getting to the point where we need to start shaping it, but it gets beautiful white blooms in the winter! XOXO
Cyndi says
Wow! Everything looks SO good! Very creative (and time consuming, I’m sure!). You and Jack look great too! I love it all (except for the “butler”…he would keep me off of that porch. Haha!)
Christy says
Thank you so much, Cyndi! The Butler is very intimidating lol. His eyes also light up red, but we keep him unplugged! XOXO
Rebecca Payne says
TOTALLY AWESOME

Thanks so much, Rebecca! XOXO
Susan Ross Hill says
First… WHEN DO YOU SLEEP! With every picture I was showing my husband and saying “oh that’s my favorite” then I would move on to another pic and change my mind! ha Just stunning and joyful at the same time! Is there anything you CAN’T do well????? Ty for sharing, as always! Your neighbors must adore you! and I bet you only give out the BEST chocolate candy!
Christy says
Thank you SO much, Susan!! My neighbors get such a kick out of it. I was actually able to set the outside up in one day this year. Then one day for the dining room…I enjoy it so much as you can tell ha ha! And yes, a bit spooky but also very enjoyable. I do give out full sized candy bars! 😀 XOXO
Nana Diana says
What fun! You and hubby are adorable and your decorations are spectacular. Too bad the season is so short after all that work! Have a fantastic Halloween! xo Diana
Christy says
Thank you, Diana! The season is short, but just enough. I set it up pretty quickly the first week of October, so we get to enjoy it for the whole month! Happy Halloween, my friend! XOXO
Robyn Wright says
This is fanTAStic! I wish I had such an eye for decor!
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Robyn! It has taken many years for it to evolve to this point ha ha! XOXO
Denise says
I so look forward every year to this special post. It always amazes me and I always have to go through it a few times because I just can’t take it all in at first glance. You always outdo yourself and I am sure the little ones (and the bigger ones) love it. I definitely wish I was your neighbor. Enjoy your Halloween and thank you so much for sharing.
Christy says
I love to hear this, Denise, thank you!! I did try to take a ton of photos this time to share, and I’m so glad you enjoyed it! We all get a kick out of it here, including our neighbors! Happy Halloween!! XOXO
Michele M. says
NO ONE does it better than you do, Christy. What a FABULOUS home to go to for Beggar’s Night. I bet the children of your neighborhood absolutely love going there. Just wow. I stopped decorating for Halloween once my girls moved out – now they have all my stuff – but never EVER did I do anything even one bit as you do. It is AWESOME and I LOVE IT!
Christy says
Thank you so much, my friend! The kiddos really do get a kick out of it. I don’t know how long I’ll continue with it, but I do it for me since I love it so much, so we’ll see ha ha! Happy Halloween!! XOXO
Connie says
Your decorations are amazing as always. Love your site so much. Sending love from Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island Washington
Connie♥️
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Connie! I really appreciate that! It will probably be quite chilly there tomorrow night as well! Happy Halloween! XOXO
Melanie Beavis says
Hi there, your display is just phenomenal! I love Halloween, too! Only thing is the skeleton baby on its mother’s arms. Would you consider retiring that one thing from your decorations? It’s a bit disconcerting. Thank you for your consideration. Happy Halloween!
Christy says
Thank you, Melanie! I saw a display where there was a baby doll in a walker with tape or something wrapped around its mouth with blood running down its face. Now that is disturbing! My baby is wrapped nice and warmly in a blanket and rocking in her mother’s arms. If you see it that way, and especially in comparison, it’s not so bad. Happy Halloween! XOXO
Debbie in TX says
Awesome as usual, my friend! I’m sure your neighbors get a kick out of all the cool decorations. Have a happy Halloween!
Christy says
Thank you, Debbie! They sure do! Happy Halloween to you too my friend! XOXO
Mariele says
Christy, I want to be you when I grow up. LOL. Your Halloween decor amazes me every year, I just love it!! Right now I’ve got a single, small tote of Halloween decorations, but I have aspirations to make our home like yours someday. The neighborhood must have such a blast!!
Christy says
Ha ha thank you, Mariele! I just love it as you can tell, and my neighbors do enjoy it as well! Happy Halloween! XOXO
freedom says
Excellant as always!
Love all that youdo Ms. Christy : )
Christy says
Aww thank you so much!! XOXO
Cecilia says
Always fun! Hope the weather improves.
Christy says
Thank you, Cecilia! Looks like we have clear skies tonight yay!! XOXO
Hannah says
You outdid yourself again this year. Hope people and trick or treaters appreciate all that spirit!
Christy says
Thanks so much, Hannah! I think they do… it is fun to see their reactions! XOXO
Rhonda Dunaway says
So much fun to look at everything — thanks for sharing it with us! Everything you put together tells a story. I’ve always been more of a Christmas person, so I decorate absolutely everything I can get my hands on for the winter holidays. But for Halloween, I’ve always kind of thought, what can I do, except throw a few pumpkins around? But now you’ve given me an entirely different perspective on what’s possible for Halloween decorating. I love constructing vignettes, and what you’ve done with your home shows me how many possibilities Halloween offers. Thanks again and have a Happy Halloween!
Christy says
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Rhonda, thank you! It is so fun to create vignettes for Halloween too, and I get such a kick out of setting it all up! The countdown to Christmas decorating is on now! Happy Halloween! XOXO
p says
I just love your energy and spirit 🙂
I’m glad you share this every year. Absolutely amazing.
Jack and girl friend did a great job w the pumpkin carving.
I love that your deco is fun and kitchy (minus the blood/gore)
Ya might consider a couple spiders. Feels right with the vibe.
You use your energy well !! ENJOY it all.
I love your half skeleton face ! Sooo fun.
Christy says
Thank you so much, P! I love sharing our display, and I am so glad y’all get a kick out of it as well! I did use to have spiders at one time…I don’t know what happened to them. I’ve been doing some last minute set up for the big night and then it’s time to get dressed! Happy Halloween! XOXO
Liz Shivel says
Hi Christy, another awesome Halloween job! I’m always amazed at all of your work and all of your skeletons and props. I’d like to wear a black lacy gown & hang out on the front porch! Champagne flute in hand! 🎃 Thanks for sharing and giving me 100 ideas of what to start on now for Halloween next year!
Christy says
Thank you, Liz! Come join the party anytime ha ha! I’ll be right there with ya! XOXO
Jeanne says
Christy, As always, I love it! My favorite is the skeleton at the desk on the porch. So much detail!! Do you have a lot of trick or treaters? Sorry if I missed this info if you’ve already said.
Christy says
Thank you so much, Jeanne! We do get a lot of trick-or-treaters, although now that my youngest is 15, I don’t know a lot of the kids who come anymore. It is still fun to see them all dressed up though, and they really get a kick out of our display! XOXO
