Hi friends! Welcome back! Today I’m sharing easy and fun Christmas ornaments made from mason jar lids!
If you’re just joining this week’s series, I am sharing the Posts of Christmas Past all this week while I deck the halls around here. If you missed yesterday’s post, you can see it HERE!
I had bought two cases of mason jars to hold tea lights several years ago for our Halloween Display on Halloween night, and I just couldn’t bring myself to throw away the lids. I saved them in a bag just in case an idea for them struck and one eventually did!
I’ve included a few affiliate links so you can find the projects I love.
Mason Jar Lid Snowman Ornaments
Here’s what I gathered for this project:
(I did use a few additional items to add variety to a couple of these ornaments.)
If you don’t have any lids hanging around, you can buy just the lids if you like.
I spray painted the rings white to start.
And turned them into super cute snowman ornaments!
I made the faces from scraps of a vintage chenille bedspread that I used to make this Christmas Tree Pillow for my Secret Santa that same year. (It was ripped already.)
Making them was simple. There’s really no big set of instructions needed here, but here’s a step-by-step in photos:
I used a stylus to paint in the details on the faces, and I used a Pigma Micron Pen to draw in the smiles on two of them. These pens are perfect for writing on fabric because they don’t bleed. I actually love to write with them as well.
To hang them, I added ribbon to one with hot glue, and strung clear glass beads on fine fishing line for the other two. I also attached those with hot glue.
Coordinating black ribbon tied in a bow finishes them off.
For fun, I added some buffalo snow flurries to one of the rings immediately after spray painting:
I think this shabby cutie is my favorite though!
I kept him!
I think the chenille fabric gives them a nostalgic feel, but you could use any type of fabric.
I Hope your Holiday season is off to a great start!
I’ll meet ya’ll back tomorrow sharing what I did with this mirror:
See ya then!
UPDATE: This mirror is complete and looks SO much cuter now! Check it out HERE!
