Tool Caddy Makeover

Hello lovely friends! Up for a little makeover today?? Always, right? Me too! Today I am sharing what I did with this very utilitarian looking tool caddy: I rarely pass on simple caddies/crates/totes, whatever you want to call them, because they can be so charming! This one was anything but, however it was only $5 and I figured swapping out that handle would fix that. Here is how it looks after a day in my workshop: Much more charming, don't you think? I started by filling … [Read more...]

Simple Tote Update

Hello sweet Friends! I'm back today with a cute makeover! You may remember back in the Fall we received several furniture pieces from the estate of my Hubby's Grandmother. We also acquired a couple of smaller things that came out of the shed, and one of them was this little wooden tote: It is clearly handmade and of course that's the reason I loved it immediately. I knew it could be cute and functional again. All it needed was a little paint magic and some love: Seriously, how … [Read more...]

CD Holder Update

Hello, my dear Friends! I usually post on Thursdays, but I took the day off yesterday since it was my birthday! My day started out a little something like this: Ignore the overgrown everything...all the rain we got from the recent Hurricane made things that hadn't grown in a month due to the intense heat this Summer, sprout like crazy, and the hubby just sprayed to kill the crabgrass before reseeding for Fall. Perfect timing, right? This surprise was all thanks to my sister! I … [Read more...]

Hello, sweet Friends! Today is my kiddos' first day back at school. My youngest is starting first grade, and my oldest is starting high school! Where on earth did the time go? I have a very quick and simple makeover for ya'll today! I have been very good on my thrift store/yard sale diet this Summer, except for this book case I bought but that trip was not for me. (Still sticking by that.) BUT...can I help it if I spy a cute little caddy at the antique mall where my booth is? No. The … [Read more...]

DIY Reclaimed Wood Crate

Hi lovely people! It's time for my Tool Girl Crew and I to break out the power tools and build something! This month's challenge is to make something out of wood for Fall. My first thought was a sign, but then I decided I needed something for entry way table to add a little something there for Fall. Here is what I started with: A 1X6 and a cheap fence picket, both from my curbside fence picket score, and a spindle I salvaged from this weird half chair I found at a thrift store forever … [Read more...]

Hi Friends! I am so excited to be part of an awesome giveaway today, but first I have a quick makeover to share! Last summer I went to my first blogging conference. I roomed with my good friend, Nancy from Artsy Chicks Rule. You can read all about it here. We were given all kinds of fun DIY goodies, including this kit from The Home Depot: It was a kit to build this: I'm not sure if they actually sell these at your Home Depot store, but you can buy similar kits from them online … [Read more...]

Planter Box from a Thrift Store Throw-Away

Fourteen thrifty makeovers delivered. Whew! Some have been small and some not so small, but they are fun to see either way, right? Today's makeover is a small one, but worth seeing I think! I found this homely little wooden apple box for $1.25 at the thrift store: Sadly, this probably would have matched my décor at one time. Oh I went through a country décor phase all right. In my defense, my décor was based mostly on what my Mom was giving away at the time! Getting rid of the … [Read more...]
