Christmas Home Tour 2014

  Welcome my sweet friends! Last week I shared my Christmas Courtyard decked for the Holidays, and today I am back to share the inside of my home as part of the Home for the Holidays Christmas home tour! Here is my entryway that I already shared... Come on in... As you enter, you face our stairwell.  I found this metal wall art  this summer at a yard sale for $5. I painted it in the Spring, and it's perfect to display wreaths for the seasons... Just to … [Read more...]

How to Make a {Faux} Fresh Greenery Arrangement

Are you finished decorating for the Holidays yet? I still have much to do, but one area I can cross off my list is my front courtyard.  I shared it earlier this week and in case you missed it, here's a peek: I'd love for you to take a closer look here and you'll also find out why this space is so dear to me. I wanted to liven up my courtyard a bit, and one of the best ways to do that for the Holidays is by adding fresh greenery.  I usually keep the pieces that are sawed off the end of … [Read more...]

Our Christmas Courtyard {And Why it’s so Special}

Hello my dear friends. Today I'm sharing my courtyard all decked out for Christmas as part of the Welcome Home Christmas Tour. I'm not sure if you'd call it a courtyard really, but we honestly don't have a better name for it so courtyard it is! We live at the beginning of a busy street, so this space offers a little privacy from the neighbors. This is a perfect spot to sit in the morning when the weather is nice. We are also very close to our neighbors as you can … [Read more...]

A New Christmas Wreath and Mantel

Welcome to the Twelve Days of Christmas Holiday Tour! Today is day one of a themed tour where each participant selected a Twelve Days of Christmas theme to decorate around. Sounds fun, right?  My theme was Two Turtle Doves, so I think I had it pretty easy! Not sure about Eight Maids a Milking, but I know my friends can pull it off. Here is my take on Two Turtle Doves with a new Christmas Wreath: Those are turtle doves umkay? (Wink) A wreath was the first thing that came to mind when I … [Read more...]

Christmas Tree Pillow {from Vintage Bedspreads}

How do you feel about Secret Santa gift exchanges? Fun? Stressful? Several of my friends in Blogland and I are participating in a Secret Santa swap this year and today I'm sharing what I made for my Secret Santa, and also what I received! I guess it wasn't really a secret, since we knew who had us from the start, but I thought it would be fun, and then it became very stressful! You see, the person I had to make a gift for is Jennifer Rizzo.  I love love (really) love her style, but what … [Read more...]

Oh Christmas Chair

Hello lovely people! Welcome to Themed Furniture Thursday! Every month I, along with several of my favorite blogging buddies, makeover a piece of furniture to fit a particular theme. Any idea what this month's theme was by seeing the preview picture? Red! The color red is this month's theme. This was a really tough one for me because I don't have anything red in my house, and it totally doesn't suit my style...with one exception...at Christmas time! I had the perfect piece of furniture for … [Read more...]

DIY Sweater Stockings {Anthropologie-Inspired}

Hello there beautiful people! I am really excited about today's post! This is part of the "Rock Your Knock-off Holiday Edition" Tour where some of my favorite blogging friends and I find high-end (and very over-priced) items, and make them for a fraction of the cost. For our Holiday version, I chose this Spice Market Stocking from Anthropologie: This very colorful gem will set you back about $48. Hmmm... x four for each member of my crew would run me about $200! No way! I'd rather … [Read more...]

A New use for Old Christmas Cards

Are you like me? Do you hold on to every last Christmas card? They are so pretty, I just can't throw them away! I usually cut the fronts of the pretty ones off and recycle them as gift tags, but this year I chose a few to recycle another way. I made a fun little addition to my mantel... I started with a scrap piece of  bead board... ...which I cut into a star shape. As you can see, it took me a few tries to get a shape that didn't look like my three year old drew it  I was happy … [Read more...]
