Hello, amazing friends!! Today, I’m back with the FINAL TWO pieces of this this HUGE summer haul! I’ll be creating new art with decoupage paper once again!
Here are the two pieces I’m redoing today:

Not super exciting there lol.
The first thing I did was remove the artwork and glass from both frames:

Clean
Next, they were cleaned with White Lightning using a terrycloth applicator pad, mixing just half a TBSP into about a quart of warm water which was plenty for these small projects:

Once they were cleaned, I wiped down once more using clean water.
Paint
I chose Dixie Belle’s Fluff for both of them giving them two coats:

I love Fluff because it covers just about anything in only two coats, which is unusual for a white. This one reads as more of a vintage white rather than a bright white like Cotton.

Seal
I lightly sanded next and then sealed using Best Dang Wax in clear, applying it with the Best Dang Brush, followed by a good buffing with a clean, soft cloth:

Creating New Art with Decoupage Paper
I shared this new art on Tuesday from another frame using the Retro Rose Ride decoupage paper from Redesign:

Here are all the images in this set:

I decided to use two more of these images for today frames to create my new art.
Iron the Creases
To use decoupage paper as new art, I first used an iron on low to iron out the folds.

For the larger of the two, I chose that floral arrangement image, and for the smaller, I chose one of the car images.
And to create new art from them, I cut a piece of foam core to fit each frame:

Next, I applied Redesign’s matte Decoupage Gel using a 2″ Foam n Dandy foam brush.
In our Dixie Belle retailer group, someone suggested using a piece of saran wrap to rub across the image to make sure the image is adhered nicely all over. That worked out really nicely since it glided over the surface so easily:

Once I had the paper all smoothed out, I applied another coat of Decoupage gel over the top.

Once it was dry, I secured the new art into the frame using my Logan Point Driver and then covered the back in Kraft paper using matte Mod Podge, just as with the two I shared on Tuesday…

Let’s see how they look now, shall we??
First, here is a look at the before of the larger one. More grape artwork from the 90’s! We sure did love grapes back then! The frame was good and chunky though for only $3.99:

New Artwork #1
Here is the new artwork created from decoupage paper #1:

A lovely, classic design…

I believe this one is a bit more timeless than the grapes though.
A closer look at the frame…barely sanded at all…

Isn’t the chunky frame fantastic though?

New Artwork #2
Here’s a reminder of how the second, smaller frame looked. It was an inexpensive photo frame that only set me back a $1.99:

I had intended to use for a holiday print when I bought it, keeping the mat, but it was just the right size for one of the smaller images in this decoupage paper set.
Here it is now:

So cute!

I did add the glass back to both of these pictures. The frames are simple and clean…

And that is the last of this HUGE haul that I started with back in May:

This was such a fantastic haul with so much variety!

I’m hoping to be back with something new for Trashy Treasures Tuesday! I haven’t decided what I’m sharing yet, so stay tuned!
UPDATE: I ended up bringing this piece out of the archives for TTT:

See it HERE now!

Christy, you did it! Looking at the assembled haul in front of your garage door really shows the variety of your summer haul; reflecting back on all the amazing makeovers, I don’t know if I could pick an absolute favorite…but I loved that big chair!

WOW Christy, look at that haul! That’s amazing– 57pieces. I hope they all flew out of your store.
The new artwork looks great. Gives me ideas for all those frames I’ve collected over the years. Good job!
A holiday stash would be fun. Will you do it?
Have a great weekend. XXOO
Christy says
Thank you, my friend! It is by far my biggest haul so far, and I can’t believe it’s done! I don’t know that I could do a whole holiday haul as furniture wouldn’t be practical in a holiday theme, but I can definitely pull off a holiday smalls! Enjoy your weekend as well! XOXO
Cyndi says
These look great! Sooo much better than the “before.”
Christy says
Thank so much, Cyndi! I agree! XOXO

These turned out so lovely! I have a frame I painted for Halloween a few years ago. When I pulled it down from the attic a few days ago, I saw the frame had come apart. I glued it back together, but now there are small spaces between the two parts. What would you recommend to fill in spaces between sides on a frame? Thank you!
Christy says
Thank you, Julie! Do you mean at the corners? You could fill that in with paintable caulk if you have that on hand, and then just repaint. XOXO
