Hello, amazing friends! I’m back today with my BRAND NEW HAUL!! Yes, I’m yelling it because that’s how excited I am! I do have a problem though. Y’all, I just don’t know when to say when. That is precisely the reason I started doing these hauls and working through them instead of shopping willy nilly whenever I feel like it.
I only shopped for four days and found ALL OF THIS!!!
We have a ton of thrift stores in our area. I hit 16 thrift stores in all searching for these items, and it was SO much fun!
I think living in close proximity to the largest naval complex in the world helps since that means we have tons of families moving into and out of the area all the time. I’m sure that produces a ton of donations!
Why do I always think I don’t have enough stuff??
I kept thinking that I didn’t have enough. It wasn’t until I pulled it all out that I realized just how much I had!
Let’s see it all up close and find out what I paid for everything!
My first haul of 2024
I did stop and find a few things before I actually started shopping for real for my new haul, but they were all lamps!
The very first lamps I found were these buffet lamps. They were $6.99 each:
Pairs of lamps tend to sell well, so I nabbed them right away!
Then, I found this lamp marked down to the bargain basement price of $1.98!!
I never care if the shade is missing because they aren’t usually in great shape anyway, but I do love when they still have the original finial and this one did!
This next one ended up being 75% off of $12.99, so for just over $4, I grabbed it up also:
Those details will paint up so pretty and it had the finial intact also! The shade will go for sure though.
And then I happened upon this tiny one as well for only $1.98. It didn’t have a shade, so I found this one that I hope will work for 99¢:
So that is how I started…all lamps lol!
Official Shopping Day #1
Then I set out to get started for real last Wednesday. I hit a few places and found this sewing basket marked down to $2.98 on my first stop:
I really only bought it because it was cheap and I was looking for anything I could redo at that point.
I also found these very large candlesticks someone painted bright gold:
They were $9.98 and $6.98, but they are larger than they appear here and I’ll get my money back for sure.
Then I hit the next place and lucked upon this gorgeous curvy number that was marked down twice to $49.94:
It has some beautiful carved details that will paint up so nicely! It has lots of deep scratches on the top and missing hardware, so that is probably why it had been marked down twice, but that is no problem for me!
On that same stop, I found this small basket for $3.98:
That was it for the day…not too much at all.
Shopping Day #2
I set out again on Friday, and the end of the week generally isn’t as successful for finding good deals, but my first stop yielded a cart full of goodies!
Before I share what’s in there, I had found this mirror at another store on Wednesday but I didn’t buy it because they were asking $29 for it:
Isn’t that crazy? Everything was 25% off, but that was still too much!
Then on Friday, I found one similar that was only $9.98!
And I love the spindly posts so much better!
Also in that cart was this cool shelf for $9.98:
And this little box that was too much at $4.98, but I bought it anyway:
I also picked up these frames there that were all marked down. I got two for 99¢ each and one marked down to $1.98:
Small chalkboards sell the quickest, so these will all likely end as small chalkboards.
In the cart was also this little decorative shelf that was only $2.98:
I picked up this shoe shine box as well for $9.98:
I see these all the time, but this one had little feet and a drawer, and I am a sucker for a box with feet and a drawer!
Another thing in the cart was this small but sturdy basket for $2.98:
I then had to drive around the back to load up this cutie that I got for $49:
I tried so hard to find a chair with no luck, so although I am done shopping for a while, I will still be on the hunt for a chair to pair with this dressing table.
At another store on the same day, I found this very sturdy bookcase for $20:
I can see that in a child’s room holding all of their sweet books!
I also found this oak oval mirror for half off of $9.95:
I picked up this metal tray for $3.99:
As well as this funky little shelf for $3.99:
Blue tags were 50% off, so this sign was half off of $6.99:
I also found this small wooden tray with a blue tag which was 50% off of $3.99:
On the next stop, I picked up this sturdy and versatile little table for only $8.99:
I also found this little box for $5.99:
That was way too much compared to a whole table for $8.99, but I love little boxes, so I bought it anyway!
I also found this sign that I can see as a tray, for a bit more than I would normally spend at $12:
And I found this cute shelf for $4.98:
I can usually get around $36 for a small shelf, so I often pick them up. They are great above a toilet!
Thrifting Day #3
I visited my mom on Monday and decided to stop at a couple of places out her way on the way home and found this set of candlesticks still in the box for $8.99:
I haven’t opened it yet, but if the candles are still in there, that will be a bonus!
This next piece is one of my favorites for some reason…maybe because it was only $9.99!!
I believe it may have held an old radio at one time, but all of that has been removed. I love this piece!
I can’t have a haul without a silver plated tray! This one was really well priced at only $4.99:
It has really cute little feet on it too.
This unique basket was a blue tag too, so 50% off of $3.99!
That is my kind of pricing!
Green tags were 75% off, so this one was only a dollar!
It is quite small, but I’ll paint it in a fun color and stick it in the booth.
And my last find on Monday was this shelf that I got for $5.99:
Those details will paint up so pretty!
Thrifting Day #4
Then on Tuesday, I headed out for a full day of thrifting and lost track of how many places I stopped!
Here is everything I found!
Let’s start with this pedestal table. It was marked $20:
I thought that was a lot, but it looks pretty old. The underside is covered in thick dust and the top has an oily substance on it. I thought it would be a great candidate to test out the new Bonding BOSS on!
Every haul also needs a flatware box, and I loved the little bit of curve onto the front of this one for $4.99:
I also found this Lane mini chest for the same price:
I think someone mentioned at one time that these were given away when you bought a Lane cedar chest.
This little trinket box was $2.98:
I picked up this simple oval silver plated tray for $3.99:
Another basket find…I love a basket! This one was $5.99:
And how about this odd one? It’s a good size and I was curious to see how it would paint up. It was $4.99:
This little table was a steal at only $5.99!!
The top is quite a mess but the rest looks pretty good!
I loved the ornate details on this frame for $6.98:
And my favorite find on day four was this mini cabinet that was originally $50:
Everything was 25% off though, so I got it for $38! That will be a fun one to reimagine!
I found a couple of things I plan on keeping too!
There are three items I plan to redo and keep for staging.
The first one is this chunky stool I picked up for $7.99:
This one may have had an extra discount, but I can’t recall.
I also picked this up for $6.99 to paint and use for staging:
It is super ugly, but I know it will paint up nicely! Sometimes I just want something simple to hang as a backdrop and this is a good size.
And finally, something drew me to this picture:
I’m not sure what I love about it, but I just do! It was $24.95, but I bought it anyway. Painting the frame a simple white will brighten it up.
And that is marathon thrifting at its finest!!
I have a ton of new things to play with!
I’ll be starting with this end table first as my Trash-to-Treasure Tuesday project on Tuesday!
Then, what should I redo next? What are you looking forward to seeing?? Let me know below!
UPDATE: This elegant table got an elegant makeover HERE!!
XOXO,
Don’t Miss a Thing!

The mirror with the spindles & the unusual shelves caught my interest…and the little boxes of course! And everything else! Wow! Can’t wait to see the “magic!”
Christy says
Thank you, Cheryl! I love that end table too! And I was so excited to come across the mirror for such a good deal after passing on the pricier one. This will be a fun one to work though for sure! XOXO

The probable former radio cabinet would be my first choice.
Christy says
I LOVE that piece too!! The shutters give me all the coastal feels! I can’t wait to get to that one! XOXO
Sue Carole McCombs says
Good morning Christy. Woke up at 4:00 am and you were there to greet me. Fixed a mug of tea and went through your latest haul. I’m so excited to see how you transform all of these wonderful items. I’m more than ready for spring so I can return to painting. We had only five days of sun here in IN in January and I just have to have light. Great haul as usual.
Christy says
I am so thrilled that I get to join you for morning tea, Sue! Thank you! I have been working with the space heater pointed at my bum in the garage lol…definitely looking forward to warmer days too! XOXO

Carolyn says
Hi Christy,
My favorites are the mirrors, especially the beveled one will be so beautiful.
I’m really curious to see what you’ll do with the curvy side table! I have a buffet in storage with similar features that I’ve been wondering what to do with.
So many fun and interesting things you found!
Christy says
Thanks, Carolyn! I am always excited to find mirrors. I’m surprised I only have two this time! The curvy side table is such a classic piece! XOXO
Paula says
That was fun! I love all of the treasures that you found and can’t wait to see what you do with them. I think my favorite is the little shoe shine box; There’s a story (or two) there.
I wanted to say about the small Lane box…it was better than getting a free one with purchase, they used to give a certificate to girls for high school graduation for a free box. When you came to the store to pick it up, you were offered the larger chests for a discounted price, but didn’t have to buy one. I still have my little cedar box.
Christy says
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Paula! And thank you for the story about the little Lane box. I love that!! XOXO
Lucy says
My high school did the same thing! Sadly, mine was stolen out of my house quite a few years ago. I miss that little box so if I ever see one at a thrift store, I’m grabbing it!! :o)
Michelle M Barnes says
Paula,
I was going to post the same thing about the little cedar chest, but I see you already did. They gave them away from 1925-2004. I got mine in Williamsburg in 1985 and still have mine too. 🙂
Jeannie says
I was going to say this about the cedar box from graduation. I don’t have mine anymore, but I do grab them (if I find them cheap) to redo. I like to look on the inside to see what area it came from.
And I follow your makeovers but haven’t actually went through a new haul post. It was fun seeing what you got but I’m use to seeing what you did. Now there’s more anticipation! Lol.
Christy says
Oh I will have to look inside this one and see where it is from. I graduated in 1989, and they were not offering them, but I love the idea! We all wanted hope chests growing up lol. I’m so glad you enjoyed the “unveiling”. It does make it more fun to follow along! XOXO
Jeanne says
I would LOVE to shop with you!!! How about the shoeshine box? My dad had one and used it all the time. I have an idea about what you’ll do with it.
Christy says
I rarely have some who will go with me…that would be so fun!! I was actually going to start with the shoeshine box, so maybe I will make it project #2! XOXO
Susan M Van Dyke says
I am looking forward to the dressing table redo, but I love everything you do. I was given one of the small Lane chests when I graduated from high school; seems like a hundred years ago. They were given by a local furniture store to all the girls that graduated. I also have my mother’s that she received when she graduated.
Christy says
That is a sweet piece for sure…I am still on the hunt for a chair or stool for it. And thank you for clarifying about the Lane box! What a lovely idea and a great way to promote the larger ones! XOXO
Sharon says
I can’t wait to see what you do with the mini cabinet with the glass doors!
Christy says
I love that piece!! I stood there for a while deciding whether it was worth $50 when I discovered everything was 25% off…sold ha ha! XOXO
Julie Justice says
I’d love to see the metal shelves that are embellished done next! I have one that is black I picked up, but have never used it because I’m just not sure what to do with it. So excited for your haul!
Christy says
Thank you, Julie! Those were great finds and the details paint up so nicely! I’ll do those soon for sure! XOXO
Nana Diana says
WOW! What a haul. Lots of fun pieces there. I, too, love that last picture/frame. It’s unique and there’s just something about it that draws me to it.
Have fun! xo Diana
Christy says
Thank you, Diana! Yes…that piece just spoke to me for some reason…looking forward to giving it a little lift! XOXO
Sue says
You are such a great thrift shopper, I can’t wait to see how you paint these up and style them!
Christy says
Aww thank you so much, Sue! It’s like Christmas lol! XOXO
Toni says
I’m really excited to see what you do with this haul because I recently cleaned out my mother’s home and she had a lot of the same things you just bought. I’ll be interested to see how you update them. You always do such beautiful work.
Christy says
Thank you so much, Toni! Hopefully, I’ll help give you some ideas for your mother’s pieces! XOXO
Ann Williams says
I love seeing what you’ve found snd look forward to all that you do!! Thank you!!🙏 💕
Christy says
Oh yay! Thank you so much, Ann!! XOXO
Jaye says
I always love the way you reimagine those cute little silverware crests.
Christy says
Thank you, Jaye! They are so fun to reimagine! XOXO
Barbara H. says
Hi Christie! Great haul! Please do the small Lane box soon. I bought one just like it and am curious about how you will deal with the cedar lining. Thanks! Love your blog! Barbara
Christy says
Thank you, Barbara! Will do! XOXO
Bev says
Oh can’t wait! I’m 64 & my granny had that last end table. Love your ideas
Christy says
Oh awesome! She had great taste! Thank you, Bev! XOXO
Fran says
What a great haul! I am looking forward to each post. Each item has its individual appeal and you will take each from a caterpillar to a butterfly.
Christy says
Aww thank you, Fran! I feel like its Christmas morning with so many new treasures to play with! XOXO
Sandra Whittington says
I would love to see a couple of the new Silk colors used on a piece or two. Looking forward to seeing you work your “magic”! It looks like a great haul.
Christy says
Thank you so much, Sandra! And me too! I have two colors specifically that I am looking forward to using. I will also be collaborating with a few friends next month where we will all be using the new Silk colors, so look out for that! XOXO
Ro DeMarco says
So many! The boxes, the lamps, the candlesticks, the baskets, the frames… pretty much all the smalls!! I have so many similar waiting to be transformed with inspiration from your collection!! It’s going to be a great month!! Thank you for sharing your creativity and passion with us!!
Christy says
Aww it is my pleasure, Ro! Y’all make it so fun for me to share! I have a ton of smalls this time, so I will like have three or four smalls posts from this haul! XOXO
Denise Zdziennicki says
16 thrift shops…omygosh, I wish I was there shopping with you Christy!! FUN! Can’t wait to see what you do with all these goodies my friend. XOXO
Christy says
I wish you were too, Denise!! My sister hates thrift stores, so I can only get her to go every once in a while, and I’ve had a hard time getting Nancy to set a date to go with me, so I’m always on my own. It would be so fun to go together!! I forgot that I actually took a photo of a MCM piece that I know you would have bought lol! XOXO
Amanda says
This looks like such a fun haul to work on! Excited to see what you do with each piece.
Christy says
Thanks, Amanda! I am so excited to have so many goodies to work on! XOXO
Cyndi says
Holy cow! I can’t wait to see how all of these come out! I’m glad you are starting with that table. That should be quite a transformation. After that?…maybe those big, gold candlesticks? or one of the small boxes. They always turn out so pretty, and they would be an easier project after tackling the table! 😉
Christy says
Thank you, Cyndi! I love that table! The gold candlesticks are quite large…I just love them! And you know I always enjoy a box makeover! XOXO
Tracey A says
Good Morning, Christy,
I can’t wait to see what you do with all these amazing bargains!
I want to see what you do with the shoe shine kit. I have my Dad’s and would like to do something with it.
Thanks for all the inspiration
Christy says
Hi Tracey! Thank you! I’ve had a few requests for that box, so that will project #2! XOXO
Holly says
You are so LUCKY – WOW! I have a few of those pieces in my stash so I can’t wait to see what you will do with them to inspire me to get them done!! Yay 🙂
Christy says
Thank you, Holly! Having so many places to shop is both a blessing and a curse ha ha! That’s why I collect a bunch and then cut myself off or I would have so much stuff lol! XOXO
Catherine says
I love the end table you’re starting with….it looks very similar to my in-laws end table with leather inlay on top. My son and daughter in law have them now! Very excited to see what you do with all the things! Thrifting is my favorite pastime…and LOVE that I get to volunteer at a local thrift store
one day a week!
Christy says
I love that piece too…the style is so elegant! You and I are the same…there is nothing I love more than a day of thrifting! If I worked there, I would definitely be in trouble lol! XOXO
Mary Smart says
I eagerly await to see what you do with this great haul of stuff. I do love the last black and white photo of the gate going into a garden. It is kind of mesmerizing. I know they will all be great!
Christy says
Oh yay! I am eager to jump in! Isn’t that picture so pretty? I imagine that is my dreamy view out of my beautiful iron gate! XOXO
Janina says
Wow, Christy, you must have had so much fun! I was having a little pang of envy as I remembered when I used to do shopping like this for a store I had in a tourist town some years ago! Oh, the thrill of the hunt! And excitement at finding a real bargain!
I’d love to see you do that side table with a shelf – I think the last photo before the comments, but I’m excited to see all of them, so you go for whatever excites you! Happy DIYing! And sending hugs!
Christy says
I had a blast, Janina! It is like a reward for finishing the last haul, and I really enjoyed every moment. You totally get it…that thrill of the hunt! The side table will be first woohoo! Hugs back to you, my friend! XOXO
C Kunkel says
Looking forward to seeing your re-makes on this fab cache!
Cute reflection of you in one of the pix!❤️
Love your site and how you’ve grown it over the years. What talent you have!
Christy says
I appreciate that so much, Cheryl, and I am so appreciative that you have hung in there with me over the years! I don’t show my actual face too often, so that was a fun opportunity. Take care, my friend! XOXO
Terri says
I have a Lane mini chest that I received when I graduated high school some (mumble) years ago.
Christy says
Hahahaha…some (mumble) I love that! Thanks for the chuckle, Terri! That is what a couple of other gals said too…what a smart way for them to promote their larger chests! XOXO
Karen says
Me too! I graduated from high school in 1971. A local furniture store gave away these mini lane chests to each graduating senior who stopped by to pick one up at the store. Probably an investment in future customers!
Liz Shivel says
Hi Christy, as several readers have already mentioned about the Lane cedar box, it was given out to girls when you graduated from high school. Usually you were given a certificate to pick up one at a furniture store. I graduated in 1966 and I have one! It was a promo so you’d buy a cedar chest as a Hope chest. The table you said you’re going to work on first looks like maybe mahogany from the 1940’s? It reminds me of what my folks had, the little wheels, the carving style and the wood tone. 😊 I’d like to see the shoeshine box or one of the $3.99 curvy shelves done next, but whatever you do, it’s all great!
Christy says
I love that! Lane was very smart to promote that way. I knew ya’ll would give me the scoop lol! I love the style of that table…very elegant! That will be my first makeover, and the shoeshine box will be next since I’ve had a lot of interest in that one too! Have a great weekend, my friend! XOXO
Caye Cooper says
OMGosh!! What a serious haul!! Good on you!
I have a sewing box with a cloth top so I’d love to see what you do with the small one you found. I love, love, love, them ALL. Happy fixing.
Christy says
Thank you, Caye! I had a blast finding all of these goodies. That box was in such good condition and I couldn’t beat the price, so I look forward to that one too! XOXO
Sandra says
Hi, Christy. Long time lurker, first-time poster here.
I can already ‘see’ the cabinet with the glass doors painted all white, including the shelves and the inside walls robin’s egg blue. That would look so beachy IMO, and since most of your buyers live in the Va Beach area that’d make it so appealing for them. All your pieces are so fab! I live in a small town on the Potomac and your painting gives me so much inspiration. I need to hit the thrift shops in King George, there are tons around that area. Good luck with everything!
Christy says
Thank you, Sandra! I’m so glad you said hello! I love that plan for that cabinet! I was so excited to happen upon it…such a fun and functional little piece! I hope you go thrifting and find lots of treasures! XOXO
Cyndel says
Brilliant haul! I’m especially looking forward to seeing the “gorgeous curvy number,” shoe shine box, louvered door cabinet, and all the lamps. I also like your through-the-gates picture — decorative detail writ VERY large! I’ll hide my eyes when you paint the silver-plated pieces and cross my fingers that one day you might be tempted to do something in DB’s Collard Greens. I know it’s way outside your usual palette, but it’s such an intriguing color (on my monitor, at least) and I’d love to see what YOU would do with it.
Christy says
Thank you, Cyndel! I love hearing what you would like to see! The shoeshine box seems to be a favorite, so that will be project #2. I just couldn’t leave that picture behind! And I sell a ton of Collard Greens! I do shy away from green because I have had to take home not one, not two, but three pieces that I painted green and redo them. They all sold after repainting. It is such a shame. I’m almost feeling a challenge coming on though so you never know lol! XOXO
K. Sto says
I, too, am drawn to the final picture. For me, it’s an invitation. The picture is inviting me into a “secret garden” setting. A place with no worries, no clock, zero stressors. Personally, I like the dark frame. It’s like a portal into light. It whispers; Step here… Come inside this little world for a while, and just be.
Christy says
Yes…that is it! I want to go through those gorgeous iron gates and into that beautiful garden. The dark wood frame doesn’t fit with my decor, and I would really like to keep it. I will have to think on it. Or maybe I could paint it black? Just not loving the wood. We’ll see! XOXO
K. Sto says
Black would be gorgeous!
Lori Boyette says
You found a mirror on Friday for 9.98, it’s on a pedestal mounted between 2 spindle posts. I have one almost like it, but the bottom part has 3 small drawers. I look forward to seeing it done. I also have a shelf like you found on Monday for $4.99?. Love to see it too. I have other pieces like you found as well, it’s almost like you came to my house. Can’t wait to see them all!
Christy says
Oh that’s funny! Don’t tell me where you live…it sounds like you have good things there I might want lol! And I’d love it if my mirror had drawers! XOXO
Marcie Lovett says
Another amazing haul, Christy! I’m excited to see what you do with that end table, it may be my favorite of all the pieces you found (possibly because I have one just like it 😁).
Christy says
Thanks, Marcie! I love that style of table, it is so elegant! I have an idea for it, so we’ll see if I do it justice! XOXO
Gloria Wyssbrod says
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the Bossbonding I have a few pieces I can try it on.
I still have my Lane cedar box it was giving to us girls by a local Lane dealer for graduation. I can’t remember what the boys received.
Christy says
I just used the white Bonding BOSS to prime that small end table last night and I was so impressed with the coverage! Today will be the real test to see how it covers bleeders. This is a perfect candidate to try it on since I had to sand the top. I’ll report back in my post on Tuesday! I love that they did that with the small chests…what a great way to promote! XOXO
Michele M. says
WOW!! You really scored on this haul, Christy! I can’t wait to see every single item – but I’d say that mini glass cab would be the first thing I’d love to see you do. But I am a patient fan, I will wait for every item! Whoo hoo!!
Christy says
I did!! I couldn’t believe I had amassed so much so quickly! I love that glass door cabinet, so I’m really looking forward to that one too! XOXO
p says
OMyMyMy what a haul ! Christmas indeed.
I love all the boxes and trays you revive – both metal and wood.
They are always so sweet when your done 🙂
But…. I LOVE the shoe shine box sooo much. Can’t wait to see your vision.
And mini cabinets…. I just love them.
The secret garden pic is inviting for sure.
Have fun!! Now we all will have fun too seeing your transformations.
Enjoy !
Christy says
Thank you, P!! I am so excited to have so many treasures to choose from! That shoe shine box will be project number two…everyone seems to like that one! XOXO
Robin says
Well, I almost fell out of my chair. This is the first time that you’ve mentioned 16….16….did you say 16????? thrift stores. OMG!!!!!!! I would’ve become an addict looooong ago. I’ve been asked to volunteer…nope, nope, nope ‘cuz I’d be bringing home the entire shop, LOL. I do help re-arrange when I shop & give extra info on items (& talk others into buying). Anyway, I digress. I graduated in 1975 & have my mini chest. Not sure I could reimagine it, though. I’d like to see the shoe shine box. Would you keep the footrest on top? This haul will keep your creative juices flowing for sure. I’d shop with you if I was in your neck of the woods. Can’t wait to to see the new outcomes.
Christy says
Bahahaha! Yes, girl, 16!! There are two right near me, three near my booth, three near my mom, and two near my sister, so I am always tempted ha ha! The other six are ones I don’t often travel to but did this time, but they are all within 35-40 minutes of my house! If I volunteered, I would be the same way! Now you know why long ago, I started shopping for hauls and working through them piece by piece. I am reminded that I have enough at home to work on, and it stops me from stopping at every thrift store I pass. Many must treasure their small cedar chest gifts because this is the first one I have come across at a thrift store. I don’t know exactly what I’ll do with the shoe shine box, but I did make sure the foot rest was removable lol. XOXO
Lizzy says
Excellent haul. Looking forward to what you do with them.
Christy says
Thank you, Lizzy ! Me too! XOXO

Well this is Christmas and Easter all wrapped up in one. Christmas because each week we get the gift of seeing your vision for your new pieces and Easter because each piece is reborn after you give it your magic touch. Watching for two years now and you never disappoint. Keep it up!

Oh I love those analogies, Connie! And I appreciate that so much, thank you! XOXO

Ok here’s my second try…my previous response failed when my stupid internet cut out.
I love all the goodies you found! Very curious to what you will do with the shoeshine box but I’m looking forward to each project!
I remember getting the mini Lane cedar chest when I graduated from high school. I’m pretty sure it had a coupon in it for a big one. Does anybody even do hope chests anymore? Makes me feel old or maybe just dated? lol. I still have mine.
Hugs, Cecilia
Christy says
Thank you, Cecilia! I graduated in 1989 and they were not offering them to us, but I do remember always wanting a hope chest! Many must have held on to them because this is the first one I have seen at the thrift store that I can remember. XOXO

Sixteen thrift shops? How awesome for a thrifter!! I’d probably have to travel pretty far out to get to 16 for me, even over several days. But it would be fun to try. I haven’t thrifted since the first week of December, and I’m itching to go.
I love your haul! I cannot wait to see what you do to each!

I couldn’t beleive it when I counted them up, but yes…crazy! They are all within 30-40 minutes of my house and there are even more that I didn’t visit! It is so much fun though, especially when I am on the hunt for a new haul! It sounds like you need to scratch that itch lol! XOXO
Vicki says
Wow, that’s quite a haul! I enjoy your makeovers and learn so much. I’m determined that this will be the year I finally paint my grandmother’s pedestal table with drawer (the kind you see a lot on Pinterest) that I know needs Boss because it’s very old and reddish brown, and the thrifted little writing desk that I think has laminate on part of the surfaces (would I use Slick Stick for that?). Fingers crossed! I got one of those little Lane cedar keepsake boxes when I was a senior in 1986 as a gift, I think it either came from Lane or perhaps our local furniture store in town and were gifted to senior girls. Not sure how long they did that. Now I need to figure out of I still have it!
Christy says
Thank you so much, Vicki! Dixie Belle has recently combined both BOSS and Slick Stick into one primer called Bonding BOSS, so that can be used both for adhesion for those super slick surfaces and for stain/odor blocking! If you already have the BOSS and Slick Stick, then you are absolutely right. The BOSS would be used to prevent bleeding and the Slick Stick would be used for the laminate surface. I just tried the new Bonding BOSS last night and so far, so good! I’ll give a full report on Tuesday lol. I love that Lane did that. I graduated in ’89 and they were not offered to us but I always wanted a hope chest! XOXO

You find the best stuff! Can’t wait to see what you do with the shoe shine box!
Christy says
Thank you, Susan! I’m looking forward to that one too! XOXO

Wow! What a haul!! I am looking forward to see all the work you do to revive it all. I am also drawn in to the last picture of the door/gate? and love it!!! The little shelf with little scrolls in each side looks like the one my dad made in high school ( in the 40s as he was born 1930) and I still have it! He said all boys had to take woodshop in school and every boy had to build one. Mine has 3 shelves. You did good! This will keep you busy!
Christy says
Thank you, Rose! I love that picture…just something so enchanting about it! And I love when you girls fill me in on the details of pieces! I see shelves like that often and had no idea they were something from shop class! That makes it more special in my opinion. I finished piece number one for Tuesday, and I started on piece number two yesterday, so I am on my way! XOXO

You really found some treasures, and I know you will make money on them, since you got such good prices!!!
Christy says
Thank you, Donna! Absolutely! XOXO
