Thrift Store Shelf Makeover and a New Thrift Shop Shakedown Video!

Sweet Friends, I have a fun treat for ya'll today! By now ya'll know my blogging bestie, Nancy from Artsy Chicks Rule: She and I went thrifting and caught it all on video so we could share it with you! We visited all of my favorite thrift stores in search of something we could each make over. Before I share what we found, here is our video: (If you have any trouble viewing, you can see it HERE.) Okay so you now know that I found this cute shelf at our very first stop of the … [Read more...]

Fabric Inlaid Dresser

Hi Friends!! It's time for another thrifty makeover today! Last week we decided to take our boys and my nephew to Ocean City, MD for the Holiday weekend. It was such a blast...we were total tourists ya'll and it was so fun! But when I got back and checked on my booth, it was very sad. I mean that in a good way...I had sold several furniture pieces including a huge hutch that left a big empty space: It looked more like this before I left: See more of my booth HERE. I … [Read more...]

Fabric Inlaid Mirror

Are you up for a thrifty makeover today? Well I hope so because that's exactly what I'm sharing! I found this very dated mirror for $8 at the thrift store a few weeks back: Immediately when I saw it, I imagined fabric in the panel on top. First I removed the mirror and painted the frame in DIY chalk paint in Cottage White by Behr. Bye bye ugly mirror! I gave it three coats, then sanded the edges a bit. Then I sealed it with Minwax paste wax. This was my first time using … [Read more...]

Entry Table with Fabric Inlay

Hey ya'll!  Today I'm sharing the makeover of a pretty little table I purchased from an estate sale. I found it at the same sale where I purchased this sweet dressing table. You may remember seeing the before on my facebook page. I shared it first in a guest post for another blog I contribute to. Now I get to share it with you! Here is the before: It was sitting in the entry way just waiting for me to get there. The top was not in the best shape. It almost looked like water or weather … [Read more...]

Updated Side Table with Fabric Drawer

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing a great way to give furniture a new look. I found this ho-hum side table at the Salvation Army for $15: What I liked about this table besides the price, were the details in the corners below the drawer. Pieces like this are fantastic because they are like a blank canvas. There are just so many ways you could update this simple table. I chose to paint it (surprise!) and add fabric to the drawer: You know I should own stock in this fabric.  It … [Read more...]

Lacy-Drawer Side Table

Hello lovely friends, I've got another sweet makeover to share today! Take a look at this little fixer upper I found at the thrift store for $7: It's hard to tell by this photo, but it has a horrendous paint job and the black you see around the flower detail? It's ink pen.  The paint was put on so thick in areas that I knew I would have to either strip it or sand it. I chose the latter and gave it a good sanding with my orbital sander before repainting. Here is its sweet … [Read more...]

Thrifty Fall Decor

Hey ya'll! Today I'm sharing my dining table centerpiece that I created on the cheap cheap cheap! Adding seasonal touches to your home does not have to cost a lot of money. I decided to stay with the same neutral theme I chose for my New Fall wreath:   Are you ready to see what this centerpiece was made from? Yup.  It's true! Perty huh? I've included a few affiliate links so you can find the products I used. The tiled tray and the wooden … [Read more...]

Decoupaged Paper Mosaic Rolling Cart

Welcome to Furniture Themed Thursday, where a bunch of my DIY loving friends and I share a themed furniture makeover. This month's theme is decoupage! My favorite decoupage redo is this dresser I found at a yard sale for $20.  This time I thought I would try paper instead of fabric. This is what I had to work with: Lovely, right?  He he...the little table was one of my Lucketts trip finds last year, a $2 Yard sale table I found at a yard sale on our way there.  The frame is from a … [Read more...]

Dresser with Fabric Inlay

Hello beautiful people! I'm so happy you stopped by because I have a pretty project to share with you.  Today I am sharing a yard sale dresser I made over with a fabric inlay treatment. You are not going to believe what I paid for this.  Last month I was just about to call it a day after hitting up several yard sales when I happened  upon this particular sale. I spied this dresser from a mile away, but of course I thought for sure it was either sold or ridiculously priced since it was still … [Read more...]

A New Life for Omi’s Sewing Box

I have a fun little makeover to share today. You see there was this very special lady we called Omi.  She felt like a grandmother to me although she was actually my sister's husband's grandmother.  She was at all of the family celebrations my sister hosted.  She is resting in heaven now, but I aquired something special of hers, her sewing box.  I love to sew, so a sewing box is a very personal thing to me. Nobody but you ever sees what you have stashed in your sewing box, right? I thought … [Read more...]
