Hello, dear friends! I hope you enjoyed getting to see all the new goodies that just released yesterday. If you missed that post, you can see that HERE. Today, I’m sharing a bunny rocker…yep I chose one of the brand new cute-as-can-be bunny transfers to play with today!
Here is the rocker that is getting a spring redo:
I got it at a yard sale this summer for $5.
What a deal!
Clean
A good cleaning with White Lightning was my first order of business:
This one wasn’t very dirty at all!
Sand
This rocker had been bumped around a bit, so the edges looked like they could use a smoothing out. I did that with 220 grit sandpaper:
If you look closely, you can also see that I filled a few spots in with Dixie Mud.
Paint
I chose Weeping Willow for this sweet piece, giving it two coats:
Sand
Once it was dry, I lightly sanded all over with a sanding sponge to smooth out the surface…
I made sure all the sanding dust had been cleaned away before pulling out this brand new cute-as-can-be Blossom Bunnies transfer:
I got to work first applying part of it to the back:
Then I chose these pieces for along the front:
It was so fun deciding what to place where.
Then, I came back and added stripes to the arms:
I love stripes, but I especially love the whimsy they add to children’s pieces!
Seal
Once I had the transfers where I wanted, I sealed with Clear Coat in Satin using the blue sponge applicator:
Bunny Rocker Reveal
This transfer really upped the cuteness factor of this little rocker!
As you can see, I added stripes across the front also…
This transfer is so cute! I had fun placing the pieces!
I added a little something to the back as well:
What a fun makeover this one was to do!

Love the stripes!! Any tips on tape, dry time, etc.?

Thank you, Jo! Definitely use FrogTape for delicate surfaces…that’s the yellow one. I never get any bleeding under the tape…makes perfect stripes every time. Be sure to pull the tape off as soon as your final coat of paint goes on, while the paint is still wet! XOXO
